Skibbereen, is a lovely working West Cork town, with strong agricultural links and fertile lands locally. Home to the River Ilen, there are lots of water sport activities which can be enjoyed especially at the local Tragumna Beach nearby for snokeling, kayaking, sailing, swimming as well as the renowned Lake Hyne, Marine Nature Reserve, take a walk through Knockomagh Wood and upwards for some great views of the Lake.

Skibbereen is located just a short drive from the town and villages of Baltimore where you can get a ferry out to the Islands of Cape Clear and Sherkin Island. From Cunnamore near Skibbereen you can get a ferry to Heir Island.
